Rolla Bee Club Sponsors Three 2024 Beginning Beekeeping Classes

Rolla Bee Club will sponsor three beginning beekeeping classes in 2024. The educational, non-profit club will have two beginning beekeeping classes January 27 and February 24, 2024.

These beginning beekeeping classes will cover the basics beginning beekeeper needs to consider before getting bees as well as beekeeping terminology, hive placement strategies, how to keep bees healthy and pest management, all based on scientifically-based best management practices.

Deadline to register for January 27, 2024 class is January 13.

Deadline to register for February 24, 2024 class is February 10.

A Second Year Beginning Beekeeping Class will be held March 23, 2024. This class will review basic techniques from how to introduce queens, swarm catching and management, splitting and combining colonies and more. Deadline to register is March 10, 2024.

Cost is $100 per student and $180 for a couple. Minimum age for class attendance is 15 years. Fee includes catered lunch, refreshments and class materials.

Rolla Bee Club Classes will be held at Doolittle Community Hall, 380 Eisenhower, Rolla, Mo. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST.

Rolla Bee Club 2024 classes are scientifically-based on best management practices and certified by Great Plains Master Beekeeping out of University of Nebraska for credit toward master beekeeper certification.
